How to dispose of needles at home:

If safely packaged in a puncture-proof container as outlined below, needles and syringes may be placed in the trash.

Screw the lid back onto the container, secure the lid with sturdy tape, and label it 'SHARPS'.

If a sanitation worker is accidentally pricked with a needle, they must go through weeks of expensive health tests. Placing needles in a sturdy container before placing them in the garbage cart ensures worker safety.
