Join the ChiSustOber Sustainability Challenge!
We’re inviting all residents to take part in this fun, month-long sustainability challenge designed to raise our collective eco-consciousness while making Chicago a brighter, more resilient city.
Whether you're passionate about reducing waste, conserving energy, or just looking for simple ways to live more sustainably, this contest is your chance to make a real impact while having fun!
Here’s everything you need to know to get started, along with some exciting details about the rules and prizes.
How It Works
From October 1st to the 31st, participants will earn points by completing earth-friendly tasks and answering trivia questions through our ChiSustOber app. Think of it as your very own eco-adventure—document your good deeds by uploading photos or videos. Rack up points as you go!
Tasks range from simple actions like recycling and reducing energy use, to more creative challenges like thrifting and renting tools. There’s something for everyone, no matter where you are in your sustainability journey.
The Rules
It's super easy to join the challenge! Just keep these key rules in mind:
Participants must 16 years or older, and you need to be in Chicago.
Points are earned by completing earth-friendly tasks and answering trivia questions.
Photos and videos documenting your completed tasks are uploaded to earn points.
The contest runs from October 1st to October 31st. Winners will be announced on November 6th, and notified via email. No purchase necessary.
Prizes
It’s not just about making a difference—there are excellent prizes up for grabs too!
Five $75 Gift Certificates to The Refilleri, Chicago’s premiere zero-waste/refill store, will be awarded in a prize drawing. All participants who earn 200 points or more by October 31st will be entered into the drawing.
The Grand Prize—a $150 Visa Gift Card—will go to the player who dominates the leaderboard with the highest point total by the end of the month.
